Group Ownership

Silk telecom was recently acquired by Nextgen Networks.

Nextgen Networks is a company of Leighton Services Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary within the
Leighton Holdings group of companies. Leighton is Australia’s largest publicly listed engineering group,
with assets of $2.6B and revenues in excess of $5.6B.

Nextgen is a specialist Telecommunications Carrier owning and operating Australia’s 3rd largest national fibre network with over 8,500 Km of fibre in the ground. Nextgen provides data networks and data solutions for other Carriers as well as Corporate and Government customers.

Silk telecom's Health and Safety Policy.

At Silk, our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, contractors, customers and the wider community is clear:

We will never compromise Health and Safety to get a job done.


Our responsibility for Health and Safety is three-fold:

1. As a company, the Management Team has responsibility under the Occupational Health and Safety Act to take all reasonably practicable measures to provide a safe workplace and system of work without risks to the health and welfare of all employees and contractors.

2. As individuals, we have responsibility for our own Health and Safety and for those around us who may be affected by our actions.

3. As a company we will take reasonable care for the safe design, construction, and maintenance of our telecommunication network assets.

To realise our commitment, we must strive to:

 Effectively consult with employees and contractors in matters that may impact on their health, safety and welfare.

 Actively manage risk and continuously improve processes.

 Maintain a healthy and safe work environment.

 Ensure telecommunications network assets are safe.
